QuiltPlan is a quilt-design app for iPhone. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell your data or use it for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone except the service that runs our backend. This page explains what we keep, why, and how to remove it.
If you sign up on our website for free cheat sheets or launch news, we collect only your email address. It's stored with our email delivery service, EmailOctopus, which sends the emails on our behalf. We use double opt-in, so you also confirm by clicking a link in an email before you're added to the list.
To stop signup spam, our form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a real person filled it out. This sends some technical information (like your IP address) to Google, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link that removes you from the list immediately.
When you turn a photo into a pattern, the image is processed entirely on your device. We do not upload your original photos. (If you later save that pattern while signed in, the finished design — which includes the colors and shapes we detected — is stored in your account, as described above.)
Sharing a project, adding a photo to the Design Wall, and setting up a community profile are all optional. If you do share, these become publicly visible in the app: your profile name and picture (or quilt square), the shared design, its name, any notes you wrote, the photo you chose to include, and simple counts, such as how many quilters starred it or made their own copy. Your email address is never shown. Who starred or copied a quilt stays private; only the counts are public. Your project journal, hours, and costs never leave your device. You can take a share down at any time, and deleting your account removes your profile and everything you shared.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Your account, saved designs, usage data, and error reports are stored using Supabase, the hosting and database service that runs our backend, which processes this data on our behalf. The one-time sign-in codes are delivered by our email provider. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, that sign-in happens on their side and they simply confirm it to us. We don't share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
Data is stored in our private Supabase project and transmitted over encrypted connections. Your saved designs live in a private storage area tied to your account. We keep your information while you use QuiltPlan, and delete it when you ask us to (or within a reasonable period after the test program ends).
QuiltPlan isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
Questions, or want your data removed? Email hello@quiltplan.com — a real person reads it.
